Dave Wilson is Challenging State Rep. Jessica Farrar for the State Representative for House District 148 Seat in Texas

The showdown for Texas State Representative for House District 148 will be a winner-take-all match decided by whoever finishes first in the 2016 Democratic Primary to be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. The winner of this contested race between Dave Wilson and State Rep. Jessica Farrar will not face a challenger from the Republican Party in the November 2016 Presidential Election. No Republican chose to run for State Representative for House District 148 in Harris County.

THE RACE OUTLOOK

State Representative Jessica Farrar will be facing a formidable and ‘savvy’ political operative with some very ‘creative’ campaign strategies up his sleeves when she faces off against Dave Wilson, the current HCC Trustee for District II in the upcoming Democratic Primary. Ever heard of Dave Wilson? Well, Wilson is the guy who unseated Bruce Austin (a 24-year incumbent and HCC Board Chairman) to win the seat he currently holds on the Houston Community College Board. Some say: “he pretended to be black to win the largely African American populated district.” Others say: “he’s a very good campaigner with a penchant for developing strategies that play to his strengths as a candidate.” But whatever the case, State Rep. Jessica Farrar had better not overlook Wilson; or discount the seriousness of the threat he poses to her reign as the State Representative for House District 148 in Harris County.

State Rep. Farrar was first elected to the Texas House of Representatives back in 1994, when she was only 27 years of age. She’s currently the longest serving Hispanic member of the Texas House of Representatives from Harris County.

Early voting for the Tuesday, March 1, 2016 Democratic Primary will begin on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 and end on Friday, February 26, 2016.

Every Vote Will Count in the 2016 Democratic Primary!
